Food contains so much cultural weight and meaning. At once a repository of memory and a minefield of baggage, cooking can trigger a multitude of emotions.
This zine is a brief look into how food can slowly turn from a source of confusion and turmoil into a vault of love. Introducing palates at a later age, and connecting with culture and the body as a result.
An "unofficial" cookbook of sorts, Cher shares some of her now well-loved recipes within the pages of this zine. The dishes are wide-ranging: there's a palak chicken paneer on cauliflower mash and yóupō noodles, but there are updated classics like spaghetti bolognaise too.
Expect a few twists. And if you're hoping for "authentic" recipes, you'll be sorely disappointed.
